    Description

Vintage 1970's, artist-signed, handmade in the USA, Spiderweb Bisbee Turquoise sterling silver bolo tie.  This beautiful piece was hand crafted by artisan Tom Swanson from Iowa.  Swanson's insignia is a swan figure as you will see in the backside pictures.  This huge single piece of Bisbee Turquoise (see the attached brochure that was in with the Bisbee Jewelry pieces - not included) and sterling silver bolo tie is from a Vintage collection.   The turquoise used in Swanson's jewelry is Bisbee Turquoise included in this one-of-a-kind creation.  Master silver smithing skills include a ball, flower and feather with a large, single, Spiderweb Bisbee Turquoise cabochon in the creation of the ornamental slide with sterling silver aglets (tips) at either end of the black braided leather cord.  This is a one-of-a-kind piece that is really an attractive piece for that serious collector of rare Bisbee Turquoise or hand crafted, US made, vintage jewelry.  An absolute must have for the serious collector!
The Bolo is 37 1/2 inches (complete doubled length is approximately 18 3/4 inches) long and the slide is about 2 1/2 inches x 2 inches; the stone is 2 inches x 1 3/4 inches (measurements are approximate - also see the pictures taken with the ruler).
Bisbee Turquoise is one of the highly collectible turquoise stones available in today's market.  Though usually blue, the turquoise can also have a greenish tint as well.  The spiderweb turquoise has a chocolate brown matrix within the stone.  The original mine is in southeastern Arizona founded in the 1950's through the 1960's.  The majority of the deposits were hauled off to dumps as unwanted product.  Some workers kept pieces of the turquoise and today, since not being mined after those dates, the turquoise is one of the most valuable stones used for high end jewelry.
We don't alter the colors in our photographs, though digital photo colors vary between cameras and depending on the lighting where the photos are taken so please view all photos before purchasing. Naturally lighted photos will be provided whenever possible, but some photos are taken indoors.  Photos of this piece were taken both indoors and outdoors.  My apologies for any glare on any of the photos and the flash has a tendency to wash the colors, therefore, some photos may be with or without flash trying to capture the most lifelike appearance.
