Sterling & Inlay Southwest Bolo Tie ~ Zuni Sun god ~ Handcrafted ~ Unsigned
~ This attractive Bolo Tie is in the shape of the face of the Native American Zuni Sun god and is composed of sterling, inset with gorgeous inlay of Mother of Pearl, Onyx, Turquoise and Coral.  The tie cord is black braided leather with sterling silver tips.
MARKS
: There is no maker's mark and it is not marked "sterling" or "925," but the piece has been tested to be sterling.  (Although I cannot authenticate the piece as being Native American, it was a very common practice among Native American jewelry makers not to sign or mark metal purity on their work when not made for commercial use.)

BACK
:  Has an attached silver tone fold-over slide closure marked "Bennett Pat. Pend." (indicating the closure's maker).
CONDITION
: Wonderful Vintage Condition ~ There is a "maker's flaw" in the center top Mother of Pearl inlay which appears to be a horizontal crack.  (see photo #10)  Otherwise: no chips, cracks or scratches in the stone inlay ~ The front and tips have been polished with a silver polishing cloth, but the back is quite tarnished.  I leave any further polishing to the discretion of the buyer. ~ One of the sterling tips is dented on the bottom. (Which is not readily noticeable...sorry, I was unable to get a clear photo of it.) ~ The braided cord is tight and strong, with no fading.
