    Description

PLEASE  READ  BEFORE PURCHASING!!!Study photos carefully as they are part of the clock's description:This is a Vintage SHIP'S CLOCK made in Aberdeen, England by Berry & Mackay. This is a wind-up clock (not a modern quartz-battery operated). It has an hour, minute and sweep second hand. The sweep second hand is red painted while the hour and minute hands are painted black. There is no Zulu hand to mark the Zulu time zone. The two red sections on the dial at 15 and 45 minutes past each hour indicate 3 minute silent periods which have to be observed by all radio operators. There is an adjustment for "fast" and "slow" time. Included is a key for winding up the clock. The base or stand appears to be made of mahogany. The brass casing seems to be in good condition. There are no bad scratches or dents. There is a small gap in the metal housing as mentioned in "condition" above and as seen in a photo. It doesn't appear to affect the clock's functions at all. It is estimated to be from the WWII - Korean War period. The person that I bought this clock from had retired from the US Navy and it was stated that it was used in a "radio room" aboard a ship. There was no indication whether it was from the British Royal Navy or the British Merchant Marine.  Please look at the photos to get a good idea of its condition. If you have any questions about this clock, please ask me and I will do my best to answer your questions as we want you to be thoroughly satisfied with your purchase. The other  operating "Radio Room" clocks that I have found on eBay are going for much more money.
