Description
This is the third very old sterling silver bolo tie that I am offering tonight.Although not signed is shaped like an early Vic Cedarstaff
(circa 1954)
slide. I suspect it is of Navajo origin.
It's surface is heavily hand-stamped and hand-hammered. It contains a solitary heavily-matrixed turquoise cabochon that is in pristine condition. The trapezoid-shaped frame measures just over 1 inch in length and width. The back of the bolo slide is marked "sterling."
The sterling silver tips measure 1.25 inches in length. They have heavy patina and a few minor dings...they are believed to be original to the bolo ensemble.
The braided black leather cord is quite used, dry and brittle.
Please take a close and careful look at the many pictures I have posted. They give a good portrayal of the quality and condition of this fine old example of Native American artistry!
Payment is due within 2 days of the auction's close.
