In 2003, the Danbury Mint launched a test market campaign for this I Love Lucy collector plate in the coupon section of Sunday newspapers in a few select cities throughout the United States.  The initial response for this plate in these cities was not enough for the Danbury Mint to move forward with a nationwide campaign.  As a result, the Danbury Mint manufactured just enough plates to fulfill the initial orders from the test market cities (which was 100) and quickly and quietly retired this I Love Lucy tribute plate.
This special Lucy collectible measures 12" in diameter and features over a dozen different images from the classic series.  The plate is trimmed in 24 karat gold.
Artwork features images of Lucy Ricardo as a wicked city woman, soaking up local color as an Italian grape stomper, impersonating Harpo Marx, dining on snails at a European cafe, dressed as Superman, beaming with joy as an expectant mother, and more!

The plate is BRAND NEW in the original styrofoam box with COA.   All the pertinent information is printed on the back of the plate and it is numbered.

There have been many "I Love Lucy" collector plates issued throughout the years.  This 2003 Danbury Mint edition is the most scarce.  It is the nicest of any of the plates.   Would make a great gift for any Lucy fan.  Or it would just look fabulous in your own home.
