The FastDry Model HK1800PA (by Hokwang Industries) is a small, energy efficient hand dryer. The one piece cover is constructed of white high-grade, fire-retardant ABS plastic (3.0 mm thick). The quiet 80Watt (3,400 RPM) brushless motor and the 1500W NiChrome heating element are activated by an adjustable infrared sensor (adjustable range is 4 to 6 inches). Dry time is approximately 30 to 35 seconds, but the length of the dry cycle is determined by the user. As soon as the user's hands are removed from under the unit, the drying cycle is terminated. An air velocity of 3,248 linear feet per minute (or 171CFM air volume) is produced, but only with minimal sound (55dBA +/-3dBA). At an ambient temperature of 72°F, the HK1800PA heats the out-flowing air to approximately 158°F. Because of the plastic cover, the HK1800PA is not recommended where attempted vandalism is anticipated. It is best suited for small, private or employee-only restrooms.
