for a
4-5/8" x 9" opening
Here we have this old vintage rectangular shaped flap type cast iron door with frame insert. On the face it is stamped "Front" on one edge and "Back" on the opposite edge. I think it was some kind of stove or heater draft vent door. In the vertical position it holds position where you adjust it and the "Front & back markings" make sense to me. In horizontal position it wants to shut on it's own due to gravity (one way) or stay open the other. There are no cracks or repairs. The black finish is faded and there is some very light surface rust about. The insert rim outer measurements are about 4-1/2" x 8-7/8". The overall measurements of the frame are about 5-7/16" x 9-5/8".
