    Description

    A fantastic design, featuring a man's profile, Greek helmet, arrows, shield, torch, axe, column, olive or bay branches, ribbons and a French-style eagle. 7" by 3 1/2", pierced bowl.  Made circa 1850's.  Marked with a G and crown, and 2 other marks. By Wolf and Knell, Hanau, Germany.Tested as sterling silver. 69.8 grams.  Very unusual and striking.
