Antique Circa 1885 Tuttle & Bailey MFG CO N.Y. Ornate 11"x9" Iron Air Grate Vent.
This early to mid-1880's original antique american ornamental cast iron floor register or grate designed and fabricated by the Tuttle & Bailey Mfg. Co. out of New York City, NY. This flush mount floor register was salvaged from a Kansas farm house that was knocked down in order to make more plantable acerage. The grate had a black finish originally but has started flaking off. A bit of work with a wire brush would have this grate ready to repaint and use in your next restoration project. This grate does have a hairline crack on the corner. Totally fixable if you so coose. It would also make a gorgeous wall hanger as well. The pivoting louvers had been removed at some point. These earlier Tuttle grates from this decade are harder to find. It measures 9⅝" x 11⅝". Please see pictures as they are part of the description.
