Description
This is a very good condition 1950s (or possibly very early 60s) era Japanese made Novco full color transfer Washington D.C. souvenir plate. It can be dated fairly closely by the titles of the landmarks. The Lincoln Memorial was generally called the Abraham Lincoln Memorial priot to the 60s, and the Tomb of the Unknowns was usually called the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier priot to the Vietnam War. As the plate was made in Japan, it was either made prior to WWII, or in the 1950s. As the previous owner bought all the plates in the 1950s and 60s it is probably the latter. The plate itself in in mint condition, however, it has a lightly worn copper colored ribbon and two silver colored metallic threads intertwined around the edge. There is also an inner gold foil ring and outer graded gold foil design around the outer edge. The silver thread had broken in places, and the worn ribbon is why I called this very good condition, or this plate would be in mint condition. It is about 7 9/16" (19.3 cm) in diameter.I usually ship USPS, but I look at other ways to get the lowest cost. Multiple plates would fit well in flat rate boxes.
I will combine shipping on all my items.
Shipments less than .00 (not including shipping) will not be insured unless you demand and pay .00 for it. Shipments .00 and above will have the insurance included in the S/H cost. International shipping ok. The ebay and USPS delivery estimates are wildly optimistic. My experience is that international shipping will take 10 - 21+ days until delivery. Only Express Mail has a chance to meet the delivery estimate.
Returns accepted. Uninsured shipments are at your risk. I always have confirmation that I have shipped.
Local pickup ok for all my items.
Alternate payment methods ok if no paypal account as indicated below.

INSURANCE NOTE: I try to insure every shipment of .00 or more by ebay's insurance. Unfortunately, 2012 postal regulations forbid insurance on certain types of postal shipping services to various countries. Also, unfortunately, I now usually only find out whether an item can be insured when I go to make out the shipping label. If insurance is incredibly important to you, email me before bidding and I will try to see if the least expensive shipping service can be insured. An example of the international differences is that at this time, Canada apparently forbids insurance on all postal service levels except Express Mail Parcels. In contrast, I have been able to insure First Class Parcels to both Argentina and Switzerland. I do not personally insure anything. UNINSURED SHIPMENTS ARE SENT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
