Structural Blue
The incredible vibrant blue of the LC is inspired by the bright jewel appearance of the Morpho butterfly.  A fascinating feature of the butterfly’s wings is that, despite its appearance, the wing’s surface doesn’t contain any blue scales. The color seen by the human eye is the result of light interference on the microscopic lattice surface structure its scales create. After 15 years of collaboration with California-based VIAVI Solutions INC., Lexus is the first in the world to have created pigment that matches the Morpho butterfly’s magnificent blue. The most remarkable feature of this iridescent blue is that, like the butterfly, the pigment doesn’t contain any blue material. The paint is structured to only reflect blue light and is optimized to reflect almost 100% of the color, where conventional pigments can only reflect less than 50%.
Sophisticated Soft Top Design
The soft-top design means that the LC Convertible keeps its sleek lines, without costing the same amount of boot space that a bulkier hard top occupies. The innovative design of the folding mechanism allows the roof to be closed in only 15 seconds, and it can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 31mph.
